Mexico Memories - Quick Quotes

Morning Scrappy Friends!! Today at Quick Quotes I'm sharing a layout I did of one of Nicole & Chris's Mexico photos. I wish I could say that body on the beach is me, but nope.. it's Nicole! Wish I looked that good, lol.
For this layout I used a little modeling paste to add some texture to my background. I took my Blue Hawaiian PowderPuff Chalking Ink and chalked over the paste to blend it back into my background. The quotes from the Stowaway 6x6 Paper Stack  had just the right elements to complete my layout. I love that the Paper Stacks not only have paper, they have quotes in them too. I then distressed the edges and used the Amaretto PowderPuff Chalking Ink to finish them off.

I also used the Amaretto to color my chipboard, then stamped with the Blue Hawaiian over top to give it a little more dimension. I'm having so much fun with these new inks, that nothing goes untouched now on my projects! Hope your all having a fabulous day and thank you for letting me share my project with you today.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I so appreciate each an every comment. They make my day!

Ride of a Lifetime

Happy Monday!! Hope your weekend was nice and relaxing! Today I'm sharing my layout for the new sketch reveal at Let's Get Sketchy. I loved this one by Ashley Horton, she is such a sweet friend! When I saw the sketch I immediately thought "cutesy".. but then looked for some photos and have had these on my desk for awhile now. Ryan and Ashley went on a quad ride at the lake and came back covered in mud with big smiles on their faces, so I went from cute to grungy, lol. I kept fussing and fussing, something was missing. In the end I decided to just "let it be", lol. Sometimes you just have to do that I think. I was excited to play with some Cameo cuts and try out my stencil that I cut.. now that was fun! Hope you can stop by and play along with us! Now I'm off to see what the other designers did with Ashley's sketch!!!

Cherish These Moments- Quick Quotes

Morning Everyone! Hope you all having a beautiful Saturday! Today at Quick Quotes it's my turn to share my project! Each month one of our designers hosts a challenge. This month Katie's challenge is "Beautiful Birthday's". I have a friends birthday coming up and she loves vintage, so I thought I would play along.

For the card I used the patterned paper from the Cracklin Rose 6x6 Paper Stack. I love the tiny prints and the smaller quotes that come in this pad. I've almost used up the whole entire stack! I made the flowers using a punch and patterned paper, then chalked the edges with the Mocha Mama PowderPuff Chalking Ink . For the cream flower, I dusted the edges with the Bloody Mary PowderPuff Chalking Ink . I was on a roll with the punches so made two borders using the Paper Stack.

Hope your all having a wonderful day!! Thank for stopping by! I so appreciate each and every comment! You just make me smile!

Sandy Toes and Salty Kisses - Bo Bunny

Well Good Morning Everyone!! Today we such a fun design assignment at Bo Bunny. It was to get out of our creative comfort zones and do a scraplift of a style you don't normally do. Ok.. I didn't hop.. I jumped out of my comfort zone. I chose to scraplift a layout from my scrappy twin (we share a birthday) Laurie. All of her projects are so full of pattern and color. She is an amazingly talented artist! I kept the circle design, but I chose to use the new Key Lime collection for another challenge of mine and that is to use bright colors. I tend to lean toward more earthy, natural tones for my projects. I also didn't ink on thing ( a first for me) and no layers ( another first). It was so fun to do this challenge and I thank Laurie for allowing me to use her layout! Hope you can stop by the Bo Bunny blog and see what our other designers did and make a stop over at Laurie's blog to see some of her other amazing work! Have a wonderful day everyone and maybe you can take on this challenge too!!

Dance Dance Dance Videos!

The Waltz

Morning Everyone!! For those of you that don't follow me on Facebook, my daughter was in a Ballroom Dance Competition last weekend. To give you a little history, Nicole was in a car accident almost 6 years ago. At the time she was competing regularly in ballroom dance. After her accident she had to take a break from competition. It broke her heart and mine. Well after almost 6 years, she has hit the floor once more!!! I cried through every dance. She went into this competition thinking she wouldn't even place and came home with first place! We were so proud of her, not for winning first place, but for having the courage and determination to dance again. I hope you enjoy her dances as much as I did.

So Many Of My Smiles Begin With You - Bo Bunny

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday Everyone!! Today we have a new card challenge up at Bo Bunny. Our lovely Evgenia did the sketch for this challenge, and I just loved it. When I saw the birds on the sketch I reached for the Prairie Chic collection. In the Noteworthy package were these two little birds which I thought were just the perfect little touch! I used some pop dots to give them some dimension on the page and tucked them into the Jewels. I usually take so long to do a card, and this one came together so easily!! I hope you can come play along with us!! Have a scrapfabulous day!!

The Lazy Days of Summer - Let's Get Sketchy

Good Morning and Happy Monday Bloggy Friends!! We have a new sketch reveal up at Let's Get Sketchy today by my sweet friend Brenshevia.  Now this one was a challenge for me. I didn't know where to begin until I pulled out my stash of Authentique papers. After doing a little math to cut out the patterns, I was on my way!!! I wasn't sure what it was going to look like, but I really like the way it came together in the end. I loved this photo of my wet doodles just lazing around last summer, and I thought it worked well with the colors of the papers. I can't wait to see what everyone does with this sketch!! Have a wonderful day!

Daisy & Jax mini - Quick Quotes

Good Morning Everyone! Today on the Quick Quotes Blog, I am sharing  a mini album I made using the Time Wire Bound Book and the Cracklin Rose collection. The album has 20 pages, which leaves lots of room for photos and journlaing. Last year our family adopted two puppies!! This was the perfect little book to document their first year with us. I had so much fun making this album!

Here is the cover!  Now for those of you that have not met the pups, let me introduce you all to Daisy and Jax!

I used so many quotes from the Quote Bundles throughout the album. It was fun reading them all and picking out the ones that described the puppies. This is a photo of the first day we brought them home.

I tried to keep the same elements on both sides of the pages but in slightly different arrangements.

On every page I used the Amaretto PowderPuff Chalking Ink to add some dimension. These were probably the only two photos of them sitting still and resting, lol

The first day we brought Jax home we had a huge snow storm. He had quite the time playing out in the yard.

Oh my, they started growing, lol..

Christmas time was the best time! I just had to buy the Reindeer antlers!!
Couldn't resist!

This is one of my favourite pages! I love the photos of the pups when they were small
And then... when they grew up!!

Thank you all so much for stopping by! I'm so thankful for all your sweet comments, they just make my day!
