Practical Scrappers - Disney

Our challenge today at Practical Scrappers is "Tags on Layouts". The Bazzill "Wayfarer" line was just perfect!  On one sheet there was a mixture of postcards and tags that I cut out. To me it was perfect for doing a travel layout. This is Ryan, Chris and Nicole when we were in Disneyland last year. I've never seen three kids have that much fun. Our whole family got to be kids again for an entire week. We even went back to the kids part and took photos in the same places we did when they were 6 & 10. It was a trip I will never forget!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I love reading your comments and I appreciate your scrappy support! Have a wonderfully happy scrappy day! Lynn

Still A Little Hard to Say What's Going On

Our song this week at Scrap It With A Song is "Cannonball" by Damien Rice. This is a photo of me sitting in my field of wildflowers. I just stopped the car, got out and sat right in the middle of the field. It was so good for my soul. I chose the line "Still a Little Hard to say What's Going On' because of the journey I have been on for the past couple of years. Every day the sun shines a little brighter.

Kite Day

One day in the fall at the lake the kids decided they wanted to fly kites. They drove a half an hour to the nearest town and came home with three really cute kites. It was the perfect windy day. They were running back and forth to the lake trying to get their kites in the air. It was a really nice day that we spent together. It reminded me of when they were little and we would go out in the field and play. It`s nice to see that even in your twenties you can be a kid again. Now.... how this layout came about.

On my last trip to Urban Scrapbook, I was yet again challenged to use a collection I have never used before. Pat gave me the added challenge of working with vellum. Well...I combined the sketch at Stuck On U Sketches with this fun paper and this is what I came up with. Vellum flowers are just too much fun to make!! Thanks for the challenge Pat!!

Urban Scrapbook / Scrap it With A Song - Nothing Compares 2 U

This is my son Ryan when he was a year old. So many people have been doing vintage photos, or just older photos that have never been scrapped, so it made that little light bulb go off in my head, lol. I had done scrapbooks for my kids almost 20 years ago, ummm...not sure I would show those to anyone now, lol. The other day I was thinking about what photo I wanted to scrap. I went downstairs where it was like Euphoria...10 photo boxes FULL of family photos that have never been scrapped. So look forward my friends to seeing my Ryan who is now 20 as a baby and Nicole who is now 24 as a baby too. I'm excited to begin this journey of memories. This layout is for my debut as a new designer with Scrap It With A Song. I have used their songs a billion times for layout inspiration and titles, so I am honored to join such a team of fabulous ladies. I also used some new Echo Park paper, and it's the first time I've even bought a line from them. I am lovin it!!! I think there is more Echo Park in my future. I took inspiration from Leslie's sketch on the Echo Park Blog. This layout will also be taking a trip to Urban Scrapbook!! I did mention I love those girls right? lol  This was a mouth full...but I'm so happy!!!

Snow Day

I'm so excited! I finally have someone who likes to play in the snow and doesn't mind me taking pictures of them, lol. Daisy loves the snow. She plays in the backyard for about an hour at a time picking up sticks, jumping in snow banks, and running in circles. I have quite the fitness routine now. I don't have alot of winter paper but I did have some Little Yellow Bicyclein my stash. The had a really cute sketch on their blog and I thought it would be perfect to scrap my little Daisy Doodle playing in the snow!

Urban Scrapbook / Practical Scrappers "Daisy Day"

I know what your thinking...here come the Daisy layouts, lol! This is my pretty little girl! She makes me so happy. She is the calmest little girl. Yesterday I was visiting the girls at Urban Scrapbook and Pat gave me this adorable line of paper from Prima to work with. I was so excited to do my first Daisy layout with it. Being part of the design team at Urban is like a dream come true.

I did this layout for the "Polygon 5 sided" reveal at Practical Scrappers. I decided to use hexagons..and took inspiration from one of NikkiARNGwife's layouts at Scrapbook.com. She is an amazing digital artist, and I wanted to try doing it the traditional way.

Frosted Designs -Tried & True Cousins

This layout is the first one I did as a new design team member at Frosted Designs. The sketches are so fabulous! This one is by the oh so talented Marina Muller-Alberring. Our sponsor this month is Apron Strings! Come by, join in the fun and have a chance to win some awesome prizes!

This layout has a fun story. My son Ryan has always been known as "Baby Ryan" to his cousins. They were all little mothers to him since they were five years old when he was born. The things they did to that poor boy!  He's had his nails painted, been in a dress, and played Barbies with the girls. He is the only grandson in the family. Well...if you look at the photo.."Baby Ryan" isn't so small anymore! These cousins grew up more like siblings..and they truly are cousins and friends!

Here is the sketch that we got to work with:

A Dream Come True

My next challenge with Urban Scrapbook was to play with the new Bo Bunny Ambrosia Line. This was too much fun. I inked, I misted, I distressed then misted some more, lol. I fussy cut the flowers, then squished them while they were wet with mist. Way too much fun!!! I used sketch #66 from Sketchabilities to inspire me. Karan Gerber always has just the right sketch to work with. The colour inspiration challenge on Bo Bunny also fit this line perfectly! What more could a girl ask for!!
