Misc. Me - November

Note: If your looking for the blog hop, please scroll down! You have today left to enter!

Morning Everyone!! Can you believe it's the last day of 2013? This year has gone by so quickly. My goal for 2013 was to work on my Misc.Me journal every month and I'm happy to say I've done it!! This month I've chosen to work with the new Pincushion collection. The colors are so soft and the elements are just so adorable! These pages came together in no time.
I just can't say enough about the double sided cardstock!! All the cards were cut out and then I just use the pattern paper on the back to place my photo on. Easy right? With the Noteworthy, stickers and the layers chipboard.. there are so many fun things to choose from.
As you can see here in Canada winter came with a vengeance, so I have tons of snow pictures already! I'm busy working on my December pages and then I'm happy to say I have a whole year of photos, journaling and memories for 2013! Now the decision is... what to do for 2014!! Happy New Year everyone!!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I really appreciate your lovely comments, they just make me smile!

Boys Will Be Boys - Boys Rule

Good Morning Scrappy Friends. Is everyone ready for the holidays? Today I'm sharing a layout using the Rough & Tumble collection in the kit from Boys Rule . This was so much fun. I wanted to use all the stickers and patterned paper so what better way than to add layers! It's always fun to see where you can stick that one extra sticker. Along with a few of the Tim Holtz rub ons, and a little stamping, the layout came together quite quickly. I just want to take a moment to thank Laura and Laura-Lee for having me as a guest design these past two months. It's been such a fabulous experience. If you have boys, check out their kits..amazing!! Have a wonderful Holiday Season Everyone!

BoBunny Design Team Blog Hop

Welcome to our BoBunny Design Team Blog Hop!! I'm Lynn for those that don't know me and now I'm going to entertain you with something about myself. Hmmm.. do you want to know that I'm having a big birthday next year? How about that I love to play the piano and sing? Ok.. I love to bake ( and eat it). Ohh I know.. I have 2 great kids, both young adults now and two very rambunctious puppies. I've seriously been scrapping since the beginning of time it seems like. Remember back in the days of scissors, stickers and pens? You should see those first pages! I like to say that I've grown a lot since then. I don't think I can define my style.. but I do know that every time I try to do a "cute" layout, it turns out with tons of layers and ink everywhere!! Just like in this layout. This is Jax ( or Big J) as we like to call him. He got his nickname because our daughers dog is named Jackson and they kept getting confused. So now we have Big J and Little J. Everyone keeps saying he looks like the dog in the Grinch, so I just had to scrap this one of him with his Reindeer Antlers. Ohhh he thought he was so handsome!!

Here is a link to all the designers blogs so you can hop along. Make sure to get the answers to all the questions that were on the BoBunny blog by visiting each designers blogs then head back to BoBunny to enter! You have until December 23, 2013 12:00 a.m. MST to enter!!

C is for Create

Today is a reminder to Create. To let go, have fun, just do what feels good!!

I had fun working with this one. Lots of modeling paste and stencils. I wanted the white and brown look,so I held fast to not grabbing more paint or spray. I altered some letters and just let go and had fun. This is what this journey is for me. To learn new techniques, to have fun and let go. I'm working on doing tutorials, so forgive me if something is missing or not quite right!!!

B is for Believe

B is for Believe - Believe in Yourself, in Your Talents, in Your Creative Journey.

Today I'm sharing another art canvas I'm making for my studio. In the last post I talked about this great idea I have to make 26 canvas's for my walls. So far, so good! I'm on B already!! I'm also having some fun learning about making videos. The movie part I'm still working on, but I'm having fun so far. This project is motivating me to get to my art table, take out those unused supplies and have some fun. These aren't for design teams, they aren't gifts, they are just for me and everyone who visits my studio! Hope your all having a great day!!

Create

Hi Everyone! I found a sketch at Sketchabilities that I just had to try. I love how Karan is doing a little mixed media flair with her sketches. Now this one was an interesting project. I couldn't find the right paper, I fussed, I cut, I tore and finally came up with something. Then out came the stencils and paint. Then the mists. That's where things started to get interested. Too much mist!! A little gesso!! More mist. I wasn't sure what I thought so I sent a pic to my sister and said.. what do you think? Keep it? Or start again? She said keep it so here it is, lol. Do you have those days when you think a project will just come together effortlessly and then it ends up taking all day? Well, this was one of those days!! Happy Scrapping Everyone!!

A is for Art

A is for Art - Whether your a painter, a scrapbooker, a quilter, a card maker.
This is your Art!

Good Morning!! I had this great idea when I saw a poster on Pinterest of the ABC's. Why not do twenty six canvas's for my studio? A big undertaking don't you think? I've made it my challenge for 2014! And look at me go.. December 10th and I have the first one done, lol. I want to try a new technique for each canvas and I'm pretty excited about this endeavour. I told hubby all about my great idea and he just rolled his eyes..I'm sure that is his way of showing his support!! I'm also trying to learn how to do video tutorials as well. This video is just photos, but hopefully soon I will try out an actual video! Not sure how that will turn out..but hey it's worth a shot right!! So do you have any scrappy or art goals for 2014?? I would love to hear about them!!

Epic 24/7 - Boys Rule

Good Morning!! Today I would love to share my latest project with you for my guest spot using the kit from Boys Rule. I wanted to use this collection from Simple Stories, but was a little stuck for an idea. When that happens I find a challenge for myself. This challenge was to do a block design. My favourite part of a project is embellishing, so I loved playing with all the stickers and sayings. My son is a typical sports fan! Hockey, football, soccer.. if it's sports, he's watching, so I wanted to show his passion in my layout. The sayings on the cards kept me smiling all day.

Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Kraft Dots/Stripes, Black Dots/Stripes/ Simple Stories Say Cheese
Stickers: Snap Stickers "Him"/ Simple Stories, Dimensional Stickers/ Pebbles Inc, Alphabet Stickers/Doodlebug
Cards: Snap Cards "Him"/ Simple Stories
Frames: Capture Photo Frames/ Basic Grey

A Christmas Mini - throughout the years

Morning Scrappy Friends!!! Today I wanted to share a mini album I made this past weekend. I started an album a few years ago scrapbooking our annual family Christmas photo. My album stopped in 2007!! A little behind you say? Just a little. I could never find the right mini or the right collection until I saw this collection from BoBunny. All the elements were just my style..vintage with a little bit of shabby! I added some elements from last years BoBunny Christmas collection as well. Good thing I hoard my supplies right? You never know when you might need something, lol.  I was so proud of myself, I even have the blank pages scrapped and ready just too add the photo until 2015! I dug out the first album to have a peek and it was so fun to see our family photos way back from 1988 when Nicole was born. Maybe one day I will share that one too just for fun! Hope your all having a wonderful day!

2007.. Love that my Tessa is in the photo with us.
2008  Can't believe how much the boys have grown.
2009  Most of Hubby's family! It's a miracle to get everyone together during the holidays.
2010 Back under the tree with the Santa hats!
2011  Same Tree Same Hats, lol
2012 .. Moved the tree, but yeah, still the same hats!

Autumn Traditions

Good Morning and Happy Monday! I have a new layout to share using this weeks sketch from Let's Get Sketchy. I love Ashley's sketches and this one was fun to play with. It left tons of room for some creative freedom. The first thing I noticed was the borders and that's when I decided the Farmhouse collection I had on my desk would be fun to use. I had this photo of Daisy and I from our fall photo shoot at the lake. I challenged myself to NOT use a plain or neutral background.. I was a little nervous, but was really happy with the way it turned out! Hope you can pop on over and play along with us this week!
